Pirates ‘bummed’ after young collector, who scored one-of-a-kind Paul Skenes card, declines team’s offer

Earlier this week, the young collector pulled the desired MLB debut card Paul Skenes with an autograph from the market.

An eleven -year -old southern California collector, who grabbed a unique baseball map with Pittsburgh Pirates Star Pitcher, decided to refuse a trade offer from the MLB franchise.

The card was presented at the Topps Chrome Update Kit for 2024. On Friday, a manufacturer of merchant cards and collecting items confirmed that the collector “instead decided to send a card to auction with @fanaticscollect,” Topps wrote in Instagram post.

Pirates offered a package of benefits in exchange for the card. A couple of high -end Pirates tickets for three decades, an opportunity to play Softball games on the field, meet and greeting with Skenes, and a autograph jerseys were among the team offers.

“Let’s increase the roles … The person who finds this map can sit with me at a Pirates match in my apartment,” Dunne wrote In the post on her Instagram story.

While the collector wrote in the record in the diary that shared Topps that the release of the card was “dream come true”, obviously that dream did not involve spending time during the next 30 years visiting the PNC Park matches.

Pirates admitted that they were “confused” after learning of the collector’s decision, but offered to bring fans to the match sometime during the 2025 season.
