Daniel Dubois says he wants to fight for the undisputed championship against the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Alexander Usyk 2 rematch after successfully defending his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker on February 22.
Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) and Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) will co-feature on the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 in 65 days card in Riyadh. Parker, 32, takes the title after recently defeating Deontay Wilder and interim WBC champion Zhilei Zhang in back-to-back fights.
Dubois, 27, has power, youth and momentum in his favor with his recent knockout wins over Anthony Joshua and Jerel Miller. He stopped Joshua in the fifth round on September 21 in a four-knockout performance at Wembley Stadium in London.
“I want that next and I know I deserve it because I beat AJ. I put him to sleep and now I’m that guy. They have to fight me,” said Daniel Dubois Secondsout about wanting to fight for the undisputed championship against the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Alexander Usyk on the 2nd.
“It will be a good fight. It will be a real war. He’s going to come and try to cut my head off and I’m going to do the same thing,” Dubois said of his February 22 title defense against Joseph Parker. “Let’s see.” I’m ready to go though.
“I’m not studying it yet.” Put him in the ring with me and we’ll see what happens,” Dubois said of how he rates Parker compared to his recent opponents in terms of talent. I didn’t take my foot off the gas. We will put more effort into this,” Dubois said.
Parker, who has transformed into a crafty mover, isn’t letting go of his hands with bad intent like he once did before his 11th-round knockout loss to Joe Joyce on September 24, 2022. Since that loss, Parker has won his last five fights, but hasn’t faced with whom as Dubois.
“I won’t tell you.” We’ll get a game plan (for Parker). It’s war. let’s go It was great to do it in front of the British public. It was a special moment. The people we brought with us, the music. It was spot on. We have to keep that momentum going, and now it’s on to the next one. Keep proving them wrong,” Dubois said in his message to his doubters.
