Would Boxing News – 21.01.2025. – Comments Rolando ‘Rolli’ Romero was awarded a May 2 fight against Ryan Garcia after Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz decided not to take it due to his previously scheduled fight next month. This is Rollie’s chance to take on Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) on the Turki Al-Sheikh card in New York’s Times Square. Rolly enters Cruz is scheduled to fight Angelo Fierro on Feb. 1 and didn’t want to negotiate another fight until after his bout. Fans were hoping to see Ryan and Pitbull fight because that would be much more interesting than watching Rollie fight. It is unclear if there were any other available fighters who could enter. The 140-pound division has plenty of fighters with more talent than Raleigh, and it would be great for fans to see someone else. Former WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Rolly (16-2, 13 KOs) was knocked out in the eighth round by Pitbull Cruz last year in the eighth round on March 30th. It was a surprisingly one-sided fight. On the May 2 card, Devin Hannay will face Jose Ramirez and heavyweight Martin Bakole will take on Efe Ajagba.
