A man who drove his car into a crowd of people exercising outside a sports stadium in southern China has been killed, state media reported.
Fan Weiqiu, 62, killed at least 35 people and injured more than 11 others on November 11 when he plowed his car into a gym in Zhuhai, believed to be China’s deadliest in a decade.
The court said: Fan’s “dissatisfaction” with the way her assets were distributed after her divorce.
His execution on Monday came less than a month after a court ordered his death.
Fan was found guilty of “endangering public safety”, the court said that his intention was “extremely evil” and the “methods” he used were “especially brutal”.
The attack was one of 19 targeted attacks across China in 2024, including two within a week of the Zhuhai attack.
