President-elect Donald Trump said he spoke by phone with the Chinese president Xi Jinping on friday approx TikTokfentanyl, trade and more.
“The call was very good for both China and the United States,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.
“It is my expectation that we will solve many problems together, and they will start immediately,” said the president-elect, who will be sworn in charge on Monday
“We discussed trade balance, Fentanyl, TikTok, and many other subjects. President Xi and I will do everything possible to make the world more peaceful and safe!” Trump wrote.
Xi after the call said he and Trump expressed hope for greater progress in US-China relations, Reuters reported, citing Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
Trump’s discussion with Xi on TikTok came shortly before the Supreme Court upheld a federal law that effectively bans the popular video-sharing app in the United States
The law will take effect on Sunday. It is not clear how Trump, who attributed TikTok to help him defeat the vice president Kamala Harris in the November 5 election, deal with the impending ban.
