Stevenson: Schofield will withdraw from the fight

Shakur Stevenson is convinced that challenger Floyd Schofield could pull out of their February 22 fight, using some excuse that he was making up to get out of the bout.

WBC lightweight champion Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) says Team Schofield’s allegations that he has a spy in camp to find out secrets, slash tires and tamper with his passport are all signs he will retire.

Shakur predicts a draw

It’s not a good idea for Stevenson to continue to discuss his unproven theory about Kid Austin pulling out of the fight because he’s disparaging the match, and it will cause the fans to lose interest. He has to talk about the fight and try to get the fans excited about it.

Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) isn’t afraid of Stevenson, though, and sounds confident he’ll be able to see him off and defeat the light-punching champion. We don’t know how well Shakur will hold up in the fight because he is coming off surgery on his right hand and still didn’t use that hand last week in practice.

“It just seems to me that they are trying to get out of the fight.” They say, ‘He did all this,’ and then when they don’t show up for the fight, that’s going to be an excuse. They will try to blame me and say something I did. Some fake s*** to get kicked out of the fight,” Shakur Stevenson said Cigar Talk about Floyd Schofield and his father.

“I don’t have to.” We’re dealing with Kid Austin. I’ve seen him fight before. He’s going to throw a big hard left hand,” Shakur said when asked about Team Schofield’s claims that they believe Stevenson has spies trying to get information about their training methods.

“He (Schofield) is going to switch and then he’s going to throw a hard left hand over the top. He will throw in a hard left hook. His right hand isn’t exactly s***. It’s science. Nothing new will happen. He won’t beat anyone else,” Shakur said.

It would be interesting to know if Shakur actually believes that Schofield is trying to get out of the fight, as it suggests that his beliefs are not based in reality. Stevenson is not a good judge of people, as it is obvious that Kid Austin will not back down from the fight and sees this as his big opportunity. The money is good, and it’s Floyd’s chance to become a star with a win.

If Schofield is scared?

“I don’t have to do any extracurricular s*** to take advantage of it.” I think he’s scared, and I’m starting to fear the fact that he might back out of the fight. Training my a** off, signed and then you guys back out of the fight. That’s some dick, brother,” Shakur said.

“I don’t even have to watch tape (of Schofield). I’ve seen him before. “I know what to expect,” Shakur said.
