Ryan Garcia and Devin Haynie will meet in a rematch this October, and the trilogy will be in February 2026. Both fights will be in Saudi Arabia.
No word yet on whether the trilogy calls for Hannay to win the October rematch, but that would seem like the logical conclusion. With Turki Al-Sheikh financing the events, it may not matter if Hanei loses the rematch. Turki has yet to confirm all this.
Money is no object. American promoters wouldn’t make a trilogy under those circumstances, obviously, because fans wouldn’t be interested in seeing a third fight after Hannay gets beaten up again.
To get fans excited for the rematch, the plan is to put Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and Ryan on the same card in May. They will then meet in October for the second leg. Sharing the same card in May will be interesting.
Henny’s potential opponent is the former WBC and WBO light heavyweight champion Jose Ramirezwho delivered a 10-round unanimous decision to Arnold Barboza Jr. November 16. Ramirez would be a risky fight for Hannay as he is a pressure fighter with power and excellent technical skills.
If Devin and Ryan go up against someone too good, they might lose. We don’t know how Hanay’s chin will hold up after being injured multiple times in his loss to Ryan last April. He hasn’t fought since and it’s entirely possible that his resistance to punches has been weakened. If so, it’s possible that Hannay will be knocked out in May and mess up his rematch with Ryan in October.
“Haney has verbally agreed to steps that will lead to a planned rematch in October and even a trilogy match next February, both in Saudi Arabia,” Lance Pagmaier said. Boxingscene. “Garcia and Haynie are also slated to fight in separate bouts on the same card in early May.”
The money Ryan and Haynie will make from these three fights will likely be huge and easily the biggest paydays of their short careers.
Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) defeated Hani via a 12-round majority decision last April 20 in Brooklyn, New York. The win was later overturned and changed to a no-contest after Ryan tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine.
