Moment man’s saved from burning LA home

Retired firefighter Rich Snyder rescued a neighbor from his burning home as a wildfire swept through a Pasadena street that has been around for more than 30 years.

He told the BBC’s Helena Humphrey that he was working on his laptop in the evening when he saw a huge fire from his window.

Mr Snyder left his home and alerted his neighbours, before fighting the fire with a garden hose.

With the help of firefighters who were passing through the area with a truck full of fire extinguishers, they managed to stop the fire.

In the end, two buildings on the street burned down and another was destroyed.
