Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is worried that Tyson Fury could decide not to fight again after losing to Alexander Usyk three weeks ago.
The ‘Gypsy King’ is undoubtedly hot on the heels of his second loss to the talented Ukrainian, fired up for what he believes is another heist.
Fury has already made a ton of money, sitting king atop a vast fortune estimated to be 160 million dollars smackers. He doesn’t need the extra money that two fights against Joshua would bring him. Tyson could freeze out AJ, Hearn and the fans just for that.
The boxing public sees Joshua-Fury as two former faces anyway, and it would be considered greedy if they fought now. The public would have been excited to see this match if the fight had happened a few years ago.
Now, it’s two broke British guys, both filthy rich beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, looking to bulk up J. Paul Getty-esque wealth.
“Tyson Fury is the fight he wants,” said Eddie Hearn Ski Sports Boxing on Anthony Joshua wanting a fight against Tyson Fury in 2025. “The real key in this is Tyson Fury. It’s been three weeks since the defeat. He’s probably still upset and probably still thinking about that loss. We have to see if he wants to fight again, and if he wants to fight again, what else can Fury do?”
Hearn looked like a worried ice cream vendor at the Ring Awards, talking about the Fury vs. Joshua fight. It would be better if Turki Al-Shiekh decides to make AJ and Tyson earn this fight by insisting that they take these fights first to show that they’ve still got it:
If Joshua and Fury pass these tests, it would make sense for Turki to pull the trigger on this fight. At least the fans could respect that.
