Moment friends abandon house as Palisades fire closes in

Tanner Charles and his girlfriend were at home trying to keep their house from burning as much as possible when the Palisades fire started to close in.

The Palisades Fire, which was burning in much of Los Angeles, exploded in size late Tuesday as strong winds swept northwest of Los Angeles. It already has at least 1,000 homes and forced more than 30,000 people to move.

President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for California on Wednesday, which will allow people to access funds and resources to help them recover.
