As Wildfires in Los Angeles continue to ravage the area, one key game of the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend is being closely watched.
Monday night game in between Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings could be affected by the wildfires, and the league released a statement saying.
“The NFL continues to closely monitor developments in the area and will remain in contact with the clubs and the NFLPA,” the league wrote in a statement to ESPN.

At least 70,000 people have been ordered to evacuate as three large fires burn from the Pacific coast to Pasadena. Officials say the number of evacuation orders remains volatile as the fires rage.
The Rams announced Wednesday that no players or staff members were affected by the fires, but they are also monitoring the situation closely.
“Our hearts go out to those affected by the Eaton fire in the Altadena/Pasadena area and to the first responders protecting our community. Please be safe,” the Rams said in a statement released Wednesday.

Rams star receivers Puka Nacu and Cooper’s coup were among many who posted on X to show support for their community during this difficult time.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fires,” Kupp said. “Thank you to the firefighters, emergency services and everyone else who is doing their best in incomprehensible circumstances.”

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Chargerswhich shares SoFi Stadium with the Rams, changed its practice schedule Wednesday to limit the time players spend outside, a team official told ESPN. The Chargers travel to Houston to face the Texans on Saturday.
Air quality is a major concern from the fire, as indices varied between 150 and 300 depending on location, with 150 being categorized as “very unhealthy” to breathe.
Inglewood, home of SoFi Stadium and home to the Rams, had an air quality index of 281 on Wednesday.
The weather conditions did not help the firefighters in controlling the flames as it was too windy for aircraft to fight the fire.
